What is "embedding"?

On a lot of popular websites (like YouTube), there will be links to “embed this video” or “get our widget” or whatnot, and that’s what embedding is. It’s an easy way to make your own website more useful and interesting, but it also opens up all kinds of possibilities. You don’t necessarily need to know anything about file formats, ftp’ing, or even HTML coding – all you need to know is how to copy/paste.
We use a technology called "iframe" to allow embedding of our content. An "iframe" is a tag which opens a fixed size subwindow inside of another web page.

What can be "embedded"?

ActiveNWI allows for embedding its search engines (keyword and category) and event directory. Each of these may be embedded for all provider or selected provider.

Will it slow down my own website?
|
|
The content embedded via iframes loads independently of the hosting page so you should not see any performance degradation of your own website.

What does it do for me?
|
One benefit if embedding our search engine is that your user do not have to leave your website to search/browse events. Embedded search engine appears to be seamlessly integrated with your website which improves your customer experience.
If you maintain a directory of your events on your website, you probably find yourself making event changes in two places: your own website and then ActiveNWI. You may choose to maintain your event catalog on ActiveNWI only and replace your directory with embedded ActiveNWI directory. This saves time and prevents double maintenance.

Can I change the format of event directory listing?
|
|
Currently, no you cannot change the format. We may take some minor recommendations to improve it though. Otherwise, we can develop an entirely custom event directory for you for a fee.

What if I am not a provider of events?
|
|
We currently allow only our providers to embed our search engine and event directory. We will consider embedding requests from non-providers at our discretion.

How do I embed event directory of my events?
|
It's simple. Do the following:
- Navigate to your Home Page on ActiveNWI
- Click Program Directory link
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click
 icon
- Copy the code in box shown below
- Paste it to your own page

How do I embed search engine for my events?
|
It's simple. Do the following:
- Navigate to your Home Page on ActiveNWI
- Click Browse Programs or Search for Programs link
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click icon
- Copy the code in box shown below
- Paste it to your own page
